Kwesi Arthur invites fans on his journey of self-discovery with new EP, This Is Not The Tape, Sorry 4 The Wait II

This Is Not The Tape, Sorry 4 The Wait II is Kwesi Arthur’s latest offering as he invites his fans on his journey of self-discovery.

Released hot off the heels of winning Best Rapper Of The Year at the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), the multi-award winning musician beat heavy weight contenders Sarkodie, Eno Barony, Medikal and Strongman to win the prestigious award – further entrenching himself as a top tier rapper on the continent.

“It’s been a while since I connected my fans with some music. The last year has been a very reflective time for me and the music that is coming is no doubt some of my most intimate yet. At the same time, I realised that I haven’t involved the fans in this process of self-discovery! So this tape is to invite them into my world and the road to SON OF JACOB,” expresses Kwesi Arthur.

Kwesi Arthur releases the 3-track EP with visuals from single, Live From The 233.

Heading the pack of new school emcees on the continent, This Is Not The Tape, Sorry 4 The Wait II is testament to Kwesi Arthur’s wide-ranging musical capabilities and finesse with his expression of the Hip Hop/Rap genre.

Live From The 233 sees Kwesi Arthur expressing himself through rap and addressing controversies around the Ghanaian rap scene. He reveals: “My eyes are still on the prize. I’m motivated now more than ever, and I make it clear on the song.”

With Jehovah, Kwesi Arthur join forces with Sarkodie to express their views on the state of the game: Kwesi stating his position and Sarkodie acknowledging where he’s coming from as he’s been there before.

“It’s always an honour to work with Sarkodie. We recorded parts of the song in his studio and the chemistry was undeniable,” shares Kwesi Arthur.

Turn On The Lights, an earlier release from Kwesi Arthur this year, closes off the EP on a softer note with a cry for companionship in an era of growing isolation.

With a nod from the BET Awards under his belt, having played to sold-out audiences in London and New York, given the world standout collaborations with the likes of Mr Eazi; Kwesi Arthur is just getting started as he cements his place as the future of African Hip Hop.
