Ami Faku receives SAMA nod for Record Of The Year
Eastern Cape’s South African Voice of Modern Afro Soul, Ami Faku, has received her first SAMA nod in the coveted Record Of The Year category for single Into Ingawe with Sun-El Musician.
The heavy weight category, earned purely on merit, features the country’s Top 20 most played songs on radio.
Into Ingawe is a 2 x Platinum selling song with 6.5+ Million streams and downloads.
“I’m grateful and thankful for the nomination. It makes me want to do more and be better at what I do,” expresses Ami Faku.
Ami Faku is one of South Africa’s fastest rising stars. Her music, which she calls “modern Afro soul,” blends soul with modern pop and traditional Afro soul sensibilities. Be it on a ballad or over a house beat, the adaptable Eastern Cape-born artist maintains all her traits and soul.
